A scenic ride across central Cambodia, visiting some of the lesser known and incredibly remote ancient Angkor temple sites. Leave from the capital city of Phnom Penh and ride alongside the mighty Mekong river, crossing over several times on local ferries. You’ll finish up in the beautiful city of Siem Reap, home to the UNESCO world heritage site, Angkor Wat.

We will organise a tour of the capital city and it’s surrounding areas, giving you the chance to learn about Cambodia’s dark history. Visit the S21 Genocide Museum, the Killing Fields, the bustling Russian Market or even test your aim at the shooting range. In the afternoon you will receive a full briefing of the trip ahead over a few cold beers, followed by a meal at a quality riverfront restaurant.

Accommodation will be in a quality hotel with a pool.

We’ll swiftly leave the chaos of Phnom Penh behind us, crossing the mighty Mekong river on a local ferry. We’ll then head north, following alongside the river all the way up to the riverside town of Kampong Cham. We’ll ride on a mix of dirt & tarmac roads and winding trails. After exploring a river island we will finish the day by catching another local ferry over to the riverside town of Kampong Cham.

Accommodation will be in a riverside hotel.

After enjoying a breakfast on the banks of the Mekong river we will jump back on the bikes and ride north west towards Kampong Thom. Today we’ll ride a mix of dirt & gravel roads and narrow trails through cashew nut plantations and visiting a buddhist temple atop Suntuk Mountain.

Accommodation will be in a town centre hotel.

In the morning we’ll explore the temple complex of Sambor Prei Kuk, followed by some sandy & muddy singletrack through the forests. Then after lunch we’ll ride some really fun dirt trails through to the deserted Preah Khan temple.
Accommodation will be a homestay with the chief of the village.
This morning we’ll be riding along Route 66 – an ancient highway that connects the city of Angkor in Siem Reap to Preah Khan. Some brilliant trail riding that will take us right up to the edge of the city. Emiel, as we’re at the tail end of the wet season, it is likely to be very muddy through here – great fun, but tough going in places. A good mix of tighter single tracks, thick jungle and elevated red dirt roads through rice paddies and small villages.

Accommodation will be in a quality hotel with a pool.

  • Conditions & Seasonal Changes

  • Dry Season

Trails: Expect some sandy trails, particularly on the third day (if you’re not a fan of sand then this section can be avoided by riding red dirt roads). There will also be hard packed dirt ox-cart trails and some sections of gravel tracks.

Dirt roads: The dirt roads alongside the Mekong River are fantastic, however they will get fairly dusty during the dry season so you’ll need to bring a dust mask!

    Wet Season

Trails: These trails will become very muddy in the wet season and can be quite challenging in places. If you’re a fan of mud riding, then this route will be a hell of a lot of fun!

Dirt roads: On the plus side, there will be no dust after a good dousing of rain! On the flip side, they will be very slippery in places.
