We will organise a tour of the capital city and it’s surrounding areas, giving you the chance to learn about Cambodia’s dark history. Visit the S21 Genocide Museum, the Killing Fields, the bustling Russian Market or even test your aim at the shooting range. In the afternoon you will receive a full briefing of the trip ahead over a few cold beers, followed by a meal at a quality riverfront restaurant.

Accommodation will be in a quality hotel with a pool.

We’ll swiftly leave the chaos of Phnom Penh behind us, crossing the mighty Mekong river on a local ferry. We’ll then head north, following alongside the river until we cross back over the river on a 1km bamboo bridge in to the riverside town of Kampong Cham where we’ll stop for lunch at a riverside restaurant. We’ll ride on a mix of dirt and tarmac roads with some options for trails along the way. We finish the day by riding a stretch of highway through rubber plantations towards Snoul.

Accommodation will be in a hotel with AC and hot showers.

Today we have the option for some technical off road riding on the old ‘King’s Highway’ or we can stick to the highway and cruise the winding roads up into the mountains. In the afternoon you’ll have the option to visit the elephant sanctuary or the stunning 3-stage Bou Sra waterfall.

Accommodation will be in wooden bungalows on a hillside.

Passing through the Mondulkiri province we’ll ride along parts of the old ‘Death Highway’ – offering a mix of dirt tracks, sandy & muddy trails and rivers. A brilliant days riding that lands us in the beautiful Ratanakiri province.

Accommodation will be in a hillside bungalow resort with a pool.

A well earned rest day – and there’s no better place for it! Ride out to one of the many waterfalls, visit a remote hill tribe or chill out by the clear waters of the Yeak Laom volcanic lake.

An easy days cruising, or a long & tough day on the trails… the choice is yours! The easy option takes you directly west to our destination of Stung Treng where we will ride alongside the Mekong river and explore the local areas and villages. The trail option is an exhilarating ride that tackles a stretch of sand and gravel tracks and crosses multiple rivers. We will finish the day by enjoying cold sunset beers on the banks of the Mekong.

Accommodation will be in a riverside hotel.

We’ll cross the Mekong River in the morning on the newly built 1.7km long bridge and ride the dirt roads north to the Laos border. We’ll hop on a wooden longtail boat that will take us over to Laos where we will learn about the old Fench rail system that used to transport the boats past the rapids. We will also explore a rural village and have a drink with the local Laos people before jumping back in the boat to spot the Irrawadee river dolphin up close.

We’ll then be dropped on our own river island beach where the rest of our team will have prepared our campsite and an almighty BBQ and bonfire! A sunset swim in the Mekong is a must!

Accommodation is in tents with air mattresses.

We’ll catch the boat over to the Laos side for breakfast (and a strong Laos coffee!) before returning to Cambodia to jump back on the bikes. We’ll cruise the winding dirt roads over to the Mekong river rapids – a truly spectacular sight. We will then say goodbye to the river and ride the dirt roads west. On this stretch, you will start to witness firsthand the fact that Cambodia has one of the highest deforestation rates in the world.

Accommodation is in a guesthouse.

This morning we ride steep winding roads up to the spectacular mountain top temple of Preah Vihear, situated right on the Cambodia/Thailand border. We will then cruise back down the mountain and head south towards the remote temple site of Koh Ker. The days riding gives options of tarmac or dirt roads and a vast array of winding trails.

Accommodation will be in a remote guesthouse, offering a rooftop view over the jungle canopy.

Today we have options for an easy cruise up Kulen Mountain to visit a waterfall and ancient riverbed carvings, or we can hit the trails that wind their way into Siem Reap. If you’ve caught the temple bug we can also visit the ancient site of Beng Mealea. We’ll finish up in the beautiful city of Siem Reap – a city that is host to an incredible variety of quality restaurants and bars, ‘Pub Street’, and of course, Angkor Wat.

Accommodation will be in a quality hotel with a pool.

  • Conditions & Seasonal Changes

  • Dry Season

Trails: After the wet season, the mud sticks around in places until late November / December (depending on how extreme the wet season has been). The trails then dry up and, in certain areas, become quite sandy. So, if you like your mud and exciting river crossings: November is the best month to visit; if you like your sand: March/April; for everything in between, December – February.

Dirt roads: If you’re opting for the easier road options, a visit any time in dry season is suitable for this route. Just bare in mind that December – February are the cooler months, and the conditions become more and more dusty as we go through the season.

    Wet Season

Trails: As the rains start to arrive, the sandy tracks are compacted – first turning into excellent wet sand providing plenty of grip, and then turning into mud. If you’re an experienced rider and do not mind getting caught in the occasional downpour, the wet season might be the best time for you to visit… the varying conditions provide some more challenging riding and exciting river crossings. Bare in mind that wet season conditions can be unpredictable and sometimes extreme… vast areas might become flooded and we may be calling in the help of local wooden boats if we cannot make it through. A sense of adventure is a must!

Dirt roads: The early wet season does provide suitable conditions and the rains help to keep the dust down. However, the late wet season is not the ideal time to be cruising along the highways or dirt roads. The rains will be cold when cruising along at speed and the dirt roads turn to deep mud.
