HOW DO I BOOK?

To book your place on a ride we require a booking / motorcycle deposit of US $500.00 or £500.00, depending on the ride. This deposit is then held in an independent trust account until the ride is completed – we will then return the deposit in full (assuming no bike damage). We will issue an invoice for the full tour payment 2 months prior to the start of the tour and we require this to be paid within 30 days.

HOW DO I PAY?

We will send you an invoice which will include a ‘Pay Now’ button and/or our bank details. This gives you the option to pay via credit / debit card (for tours sold in GBP only), direct bank transfer or even PayPal. This money is paid directly into an independent trust account, keeping your money safe and secure until we complete your tour.

IS MY MONEY SAFE?

Yes – when you book a tour through our UK company your money is paid directly into an independent trust account, managed by the PTS (Protected Travel Services). This gives you 100% financial security in the unlikely event that us (or any of our suppliers) become insolvent.

WHAT IS THE DEPOSIT FOR?

To secure your booking we require a US$500 / £500 booking / motorcycle deposit.

In the event of cancellation, this deposit is non-refundable.

This deposit is held as a security deposit for motorcycle damages – it will be returned to you at the end of the tour minus any motorcycle damage costs (if any).

WHAT’S INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?

Generally the prices includes: twin-share accommodation, airport pickup, domestic transfers, bike rental, fuel, guides / mechanics, a western medic, support vehicle, all meals on all riding days, all entrance / crossing / permit fees on all riding days, a Ride Expeditions t-shirt, a copy of all photos taking during the trip by our tour leader. The price generally excludes: alcohol, meals on non-riding days, international flights, travel insurance and other personal expenses. THESE INCLUSIONS MAY DIFFER FROM TOUR TO TOUR SO PLEASE STUDY THE TOUR DESCRIPTION AND YOUR ITINERARY INCLUSIONS CAREFULLY.

WHAT DO I WEAR?

This will vary from tour to tour so please check tour descriptions of get in touch with us for more details. But to give you an idea…

OFF-ROAD TOURS: Helmet, goggles / glasses, trouser / motocross pants, a sturdy pair of boots and a long sleeved top / jersey. We strongly recommend that you bring all your own kit as it is very important that you are comfortable on the ride.

ROAD TOURS: Helmet, goggles / glasses, armoured trousers, a sturdy pair of boots and an armoured jacket, a Buff or similar and gloves. A lightweight rain jacket is also a good idea and thermal underlayers may be required depending on the destination.

IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO BRING YOUR OWN KIT PLEASE GET IN TOUCH WITH US TO ENQUIRE WHAT KIT WE MIGHT HAVE AVAILABLE FOR YOU TO BORROW.

WHAT BIKES DO WE USE?

Again, this varies from tour to tour, but our off-road tours use either the new Honda CRF250L, the Kawasaki KLX250S or the KTM 450EXC. Our road tours in the Himalayas use the thumping Royal Enfields! All bikes are modern and incredibly well looked after. Follow this link fore more info on the bikes we use.

IS IT NECESSARY TO HOLD A VALID MOTORCYCLE LICENSE?

Yes, it is our requirement that all of our riders have a valid motorcycle license in their home country. It is also recommended that you obtain an international license. PLEASE BE SURE TO DOUBLE CHECK THE REQUIREMENTS OF YOUR TRAVEL INSURANCE COMPANY.

HOW MUCH RIDING EXPERIENCE DO I NEED?

We require all of our riders to have a minimum of 2 years riding experience under their belts. The actual amount of experience required varies from tour to tour, so please contact us directly for more information. Our tour leaders are more than happy to chat with you on the phone to discuss this in more detail.

WHAT ABOUT TRAVEL INSURANCE?

We insist that all of our riders obtain appropriate travel insurance. Be sure to double check with the insurance company that they will cover you for riding motorcycles (check the engine size) in the country of travel, and what license that require you to have. As a minimum the insurance must cover medical evacuation and hospitalization. We recommend HolidaySafe.co.uk

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DAMAGE THE MOTORCYCLE?

Minor damage is covered by us. Major damage caused by rider error will need to be covered by yourself. In these circumstances we will work out the cheapest way to have the repairs done to the necessary standard… we’re incredibly fair in these situations and we would never intend to profit out of this. If this worries you, we can provide a ‘damage reduction plan’ for a small additional daily cost… get in touch with us for more details.
