Hi to everybody out there in motorcycle land. Here’s the latest edition of our newsletter, updating you on everything that’s happening in our world from new bikes to mad sheep… as you do.

Not sure what to do for New Years Eve this year? Want to get away for Christmas? Well we may be able to help you. It has just been confirmed that our ‘Tough One‘ dirt bike tour of Cambodia will run from 27th December 2016 and finish in Phnom Penh on 5th January 2017. Can you think of a better way to ring in the new year? We can’t.

No sooner has our new boy Julian started with us, he’s been off risking life and limb on the infamous Welsh 2 Day enduro, based in the historic spa town of Llandrindod Wells.  For those that don’t know, the Welsh’ is one of the longest running enduros in the world, first running way back in 1951 when the event was won on a 350 AJS.
This year Julian joined nearly 600 riders for the event, choosing his much loved and abused KTM EXC250 as the weapon of choice for his 14th successive entry into the event.

There will be an extended report on the website soon, but in the meantime we’re pleased to announce that our boy came in a creditable 42nd out of 200 in his class, surviving the ordeal with nothing worse than a scratch on his nose. The event was won by enduro hero Steve Holcombe, with the expert class won by Adam James. Adam’s win completes three generations of winners for the James family that run the longstanding E T James dealership in nearby Rhayader.

Unfortunately the bearing collapsed on Julian’s trailer on the way home – not quite such an impressive end to the event.

We all agree it’s great when people say nice things about our company and the service we offer. It’s even better when they head straight to Trip Advisor and rate us as consistently excellent. And this has happened to us at Ride Cambodia so often that Trip Advisor have awarded us a Certificate of Excellence – reflecting the quality and quantity of reviews submitted by travellers on Trip Advisor over a 12-month period (To qualify, a business must maintain an overall Trip Advisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed for at least 12 months. And we ticked all those boxes!).

When the world’s largest travel site is sharing the opinion of all of our customers we know we’re doing something right, so thanks to all our loyal customers for their support and glowing praise. Perhaps it’s time you tried us out too?

Not that it ever wasn’t, but we’ve recently become a UK registered company and become members of the PTS – Protected Travel Services scheme. This gives all our customers 100% financial security when booking with us, as the scheme not only covers everything we do, but also the partners and business that we work with wherever we take our tours. We’re delighted to have this as a back up to our business and we’re sure that our customers will appreciate the additional peace of mind.

Following a concerted push, the amount of interaction and feedback from our many followers across the digital world has rocketed in what can only be seen as a positive way. It seems that our dirt bike fans from Arizona to Adelaide like the new mix of daft videos, silly pictures and images from our epic tours and are responding in vast numbers. If that’s you – thank you so much. We want our website and social media outlets to be a useful and fun resource for dirt bikers, and we are getting there.
Oh and what were the most popular posts in the last month? First off it was the video of our epic Himalayan Heights Tour and in second place, a picture of a house with a track in the back garden. But coming up close is the angry sheep – Who knew?

While the rest of the staff were slaving away in the office, Toby was ‘working hard’ (so he says) testing the new bikes for our Cambodia & Laos-Vietnam tours later in 2016 / 2017. Between pounding the trails on the rather wonderful Kawasaki KLX250, the deceptively capable Honda CRF250L and the barnstorming KTM EXC450, Toby has barely had time to stop grinning. These babies are going to be super popular with our customers out on the trails and represent a big step forward from the trusty DRZ and Honda XR tag team. We can’t wait to get on them.

OK so that’s all we’ve got. Stop reading, get out on the trails and get dirty. Memories aren’t made in the office …
