Being so easily accessible yet offering so much variety in one country, Morocco is fantastic for motorcycle touring on and off road. Our motorcycle tours in Morocco focus on both the bigger adventure bikes and the lightweight enduro machines. We’re spoilt for choice in Morocco, so we’ll have something for everyone – whether you’re an off-road pro or a just getting into the world of adventure bikes.
The famous Dade Gorge road that climbs into the mountain in dizzying hairpins and the routes crossing the Atlas Mountains are perfect for leaning into those tarmac twisties. The paved roads are a joy to ride and there’s no shortage of exhilarating gravel routes that are made for the big adventure bikes.
For the dirt bike riders, it’s all about the gravel roads, rocky tracks and desert dune riding. As we venture in to the Sahara, expect sand, sand and some more sand: after all, Morocco motorcycle tours are all about those famously giant dunes and Paris-Dakar vibes, so be prepared to put your sand-riding skills to the test. Keep your speed in check though: even out here in the desert, there may be domestic animals or wildlife appearing out of nowhere, so keep that throttle steady and avoid hitting a camel, à la Joey Evans during the Africa Eco Race!
At a stretch, Morocco can be a year-round destination, but this will largely depend on the regions you wish to visit. July & August are the only two months of the year we would advise against – it will be pretty hot throughout many parts of the country, and absolutely roasting in the desert! As with all of our destinations, our Morocco motorcycle tours are scheduled for the optimum months.
Don’t forget to pack a thermal layer though… Morocco is known as a ‘cold country with a hot sun.’ So while the weather can be toasty throughout the day, those desert nights can get extremely chilly, so be sure to pack accordingly.
Morocco is known as “the land of colours” for good reason… From vast Atlantic beaches to towering mountains, enormous sand dunes to rolling green hills scattered with olive orchards, otherworldly rock formations and gorges to wide open horizons of the Sahara, motorcycle tours in Morocco offer scenery that changes on a daily basis! One moment you feel like you’re traveling through Monument Valley or the Australian outback and the next you’re transported to a secluded mountain pass or the deep Saharan backcountry with remote Berber villages and free-roaming camels.
You may have seen images of the famed Dades Gorge road, but the reality is, countless other tarmac routes in the Atlas Mountains are just as jaw-dropping. With plenty of generous sweepers and tight hairpin turns, Moroccan roads feel like they’ve been built with motorcyclists in mind. Don’t forget to keep your eyes on the road though: in some sections there may be sand blowing over the road or a local shepherd moving his camels and donkeys alongside the route… Take it cruisey and take it all in!
While the paved routes in Morocco are mind-blowing, the off-road trails on offer there are simply out of this world. Our off-road motorcycle tours in Morocco provide an incredible variety of terrain, from limitless open desert pistes to gnarly mountain trails and rocky tracks to wide gravel roads; there’s a good reason most of the world’s biggest and toughest rally races cross Morocco! Riding off-road in Morocco, you can really open that throttle wide and go for it in the desert. Once you’re done playing in the planet’s largest sandbox, head into the mountains for some technical rocky climbs. If you love your off-road, you’re going to love dirt biking in Morocco!
Even if you’re headed to Morocco with one goal in mind – the riding – you’ll inevitably experience the unparalleled local hospitality. The locals love seeing foreigners, especially on motorbikes, so expect smiles and cheers just about everywhere you go. Morocco is also an incredibly intriguing destination: the mix of native Berber and outside French, Arab and Andalusian cultures create layer upon layer of deep-rooted North African heritage. Whether it’s visiting desert oases or shopping for souvenirs at the souks in Marrakech, you’ll get to experience Moroccan culture up close and personal.
One often loses weight on a motorcycle tour – especially the more intense & warm enduro rides – but nothing of the sort is going to happen to you in Morocco! Moroccan cuisine is delicious and we’ll ensure you’ll be feasting like a king! From the traditional tagine, a slow roasted chicken or lamb, to a plethora of local meats, breads, fruit and sweets, Moroccans know how to cook and you’ll be sampling gourmet-level meals every single day
