Morning All

It’s a bright and crisp November morning in the UK, there’s a sprinkling of frost in the air and there are floods all over. Over in South Africa it’s the complete opposite with baking sunshine and tinder dry trails to ride, and the team have just got back from the epic Cape Crusader tour taking in everything from the wonders of the Cederberg Wilderness to the beauty of the Garden route at the very tip of the continent. In the Ride Expeditions HQ, Anna and Kaylee are busy processing all the logistics for the forthcoming tours, while the tour team are occupied with sorting through the dirty laundry after two weeks on the trails …

So, it’s on with the November Newsletter. And it’s big, big news!

MONGOLIA IS ON!!!

We are delighted to announce that our Mongolian tour – ‘The Warrior’s Trail‘ – is now ready to go and on sale right now!

Back in August Toby, Julian, Ride Expedition’s loyal customer Paul and Ian – our hapless but thankfully highly skilled drone guy and video maker – set off for Ulaanbaatar for a week of trail riding, fact finding and vodka drinking under the massive skies of this incredible country. Traveling over a thousand miles in the course of the week, the team discovered some of the most amazing trail riding in the world. Mongolia is like nowhere you’ve ever ridden before – there are no fences, no gates, no boundaries, no border posts – it’s just mile after mile of amazing riding without coming even close to a road. From wide open plains to cool pine forests, rock climbs to flat out dirt trails, Mongolia has got everything.

Since their return, Toby has been working tirelessly with our Mongolian team to get the tour ready. We’ve booked fantastic stays in remote yurt camps and sorted out the best places to visit while we travel through the epic scenery. We’ll ride Yaks, swim in crystal clear lakes and climb amazing volcanoes – Hell, we might even try the Genghis Khan vodka!

The first tour goes out in June for a 9 day tour that will start in the capital city and take us almost to the Russian border. What a trip, what an experience!

Check out the tour details here and check out Ian’s video below – epic stuff!

HOLIDAY IN CAMBODIA?

With all the cold weather in Blighty, it’s great to be looking at the return of our Cambodian riding season, kicking off with the rather beautiful Cambodian Quest, followed by the entrancing Cardamom Mountain Explorer before the big guns come to play in the new Year with the infamous ‘Tough One’.

Cambodia Motorbike Tours

Riding in Cambodia is a constantly rewarding experience, from the epic trails and the frantically busy towns to the wonderful warm hospitality of the locals we stay with and meet along the way. And with the temperature suitably tropical, you can leave your thermals behind and simply enjoy day after day of tight jungle tracks and sweeping fast dirt roads that scythe across this beautiful country. Up for it?

WORLD CHAMPION TOURS

After their hard-fought victory in the World Cup, the South African rugby team returned home to a well-deserved hero’s welcome and what better way to celebrate the win than by visiting this amazing country for one of our adventure bike tours. For those looking for truly big, big bike adventure, the Cape Crusader is the one for you, delivering thirteen days of amazing riding and incredible sights from the majesty of the Cederberg Wilderness to the wildlife in the Addo Elephant National Park. If you like adventure motorcycling, you’ll love this!

But if your schedule or your budget is a bit smaller, you could try our Sea to Safari tour – it’s got all the excitement of the Cape Crusader but compressed to a packed eight days of riding. From blasting the dirt roads up to the Cederberg, the sweeping roads down to Montagu and even whale watching in Hermanus it’s a great way to experience this amazing country.

COLOMBIAN TRAILBLAZERS

In our quest for global domination, the first of our tours in South America went off at the end of October. We’re immensely proud of our Colombian Trailblazer Tour – it gives our riders a unique and very special experience of this often misunderstood but beautiful country. From riding through the dense coffee plantations in the hot and steamy lowlands to taking mountain trails right up into the clouds, this is a wonderful way to explore Colombia. Our next tour goes out in July so there’s plenty of time to get planning for a slice of Colombian trail riding heaven. You know you want to …
