The world-famous Garden Route earned its reputation for good reason. For motorcyclists, it’s a dream come true: sweeping coastal roads that hug the ocean, inland passes that carve through untamed wilderness, and landscapes that shift dramatically with every twist of the throttle. Conquer the legendary Route 62, lean into the iconic curves of Chapman’s Peak Drive, master towering mountain passes, and tick the Cape Agulhas – the southernmost tip of Africa – off your travel to do. 

If a motorcycle tour of South Africa’s Garden Route isn’t already on your bucket list, it should be. And with our self-guided tour model, you can experience it on your own terms – with the hard work already done for you and the safety net of support along the way.

Self-Guided & Supported.

This is not a guided group tour – it’s designed for riders who crave freedom, flexibility, and independence. But that doesn’t mean you’re on your own. We provide the motorcycle, arrange all accommodation, and organise motorcycle return transport from your final destination. You’ll receive detailed GPX routes for each day, plus access to a tour app loaded with fuel stops, recommended eateries, route notes, contacts, and essential travel information.

While you’re out there exploring, a backup vehicle (driven by a first-response medic) follows the route. It carries your luggage, tools, essential spares, and a medical kit – so you can ride light and stay focused on the road ahead.

Important to Know

Because this isn’t a guided tour, there won’t be a full-time support team riding alongside you. While the backup vehicle provides limited assistance, you are ultimately responsible for your motorcycle and your navigation. This trip is only suitable for highly competent riders who are confident fixing minor issues like flat tyres and navigating using GPX files.
