Recent updates from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office have prompted understandable questions from travellers planning trips to Cambodia. At Ride Expeditions, safety and clarity come first, so we want to explain what the current advice means in practical terms and how it affects our tours on the ground.
A Considered Itinerary Adjustment
The original plan for Day Seven involved riding from Stung Treng to Preah Vihear. In response to updated guidance, this section has been revised.
The new plan takes riders from Stung Treng across the Mekong River, then southwest to the village of Ta Seng. Guests will stay in a locally run homestay that Ride Expeditions has worked with for more than ten years. Close to Ta Seng is Prasat Preah Khan, a remote and rarely visited temple regarded by Ride Expeditions as one of Cambodia’s most remarkable sites.
The ride into Ta Seng and the following day’s journey to Siem Reap remain standout sections of the itinerary, including Kulen Mountain and Koh Ker.
Safety, Insurance, and Contingency Planning
If official advice changes in a way that affects the tour, guests will be informed immediately. If cancellation becomes necessary, Ride Expeditions will offer a full refund or the option to transfer to a later departure or an alternative tour. Cambodia remains an exceptional destination for adventure motorcycling. With careful planning and close attention to official advice, we believe it is responsible to continue operating tours.
