Tour Overview
From Vientiane to Luang Prabang, the long way round. This ride cuts through the wild heart of northern Laos: mountains, rivers and hidden histories. We carve along twisting forest trails, cross rivers on bamboo bridges and wind through Akha and Hmong villages most outsiders never see. You’ll visit the Plain of Jars and ride country the Secret War was fought over, pulling up beside a Russian tank still sitting where it stopped. Expect the lot: smooth tarmac, rugged dirt, winding singletrack and cool pine-forest descents. It ends on the water. Bikes loaded onto a long-tail boat, the Pak Ou caves on the way past, and a slow drift down the Mekong into Luang Prabang. It’s a 5/10, and most of it is dirt. See the full route day by day.
