Honda have released images of the exquisite Rally version of their world-conquering Africa Twin. The new version in bristling with rally essentials, yet comes in an impressive 7 kg lighter than the stocker, but apparently with only a disappointing 5 bhp more, despite that stunning Termi exhaust and infinitely programmable mapping.
The additional kit includes
- Rally style bodywork
- Aluminium navigation mount
- Smart App programmable engine mapping
- Full Termignoni titanium exhaust
- Sculpted rally seat
- Stronger aluminium rims
- Uprated suspension
- LED Lights
- Anodised front forks with uprated internals
- Steel braided brake lines
- Silicone cooling pipework
- Carbonfibre engine guards
- Radiator protector
- Rally footpegs
- Rally tyres
So with all this top end trickery, what’s the price?
Well although there has been no official press release from Honda, the Italian media sources that revealed the images and spec following a motorcycle Expo in the country, are quoting an eye-watering €21,490, so around £18,750 or $22,800, with a DCT version at €22,640.
For that money, there are still going to be a lot of riders tempted by this piece of motorcycling goodness, but it’s a big price tag if you are not seriously into you rally riding.
We just hope we can get a ride on one, because we’re never going to own one!
