The World Land Trust
We wanted to do something for the environment to help offset the carbon footprint from riding motorbikes all over the world. Which is where The World Land Trust, comes in, a non-profit organisation with a focus on global reforestation, land purchase as a tool for conservation, and carbon balanced. For each and every rider that books a tour with us we protect the most threatened habitats and species on their behalf. Well not physically but someone at World Land Trust does it for us.
World Land Trust
Since its inception in 1989, WLT has gone on to support local conservation partners in more than 30 countries, raising funds to protect some of the world’s most biologically significant and threatened habitats. They work with awesome reforestations partners in North America, South America, Asia, and Africa who help them get trees in the ground to restore forests after fires and floods, create jobs, build communities, and protect habitat for biodiversity.
Why plant trees? Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world’s terrestrial biodiversity. They also provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere, and are key ingredients in 25% of all medicines.
