MOTORCYCLES, MAGAZINES and MUCH,MUCH MORE ...

Hello Everyone – the sun’s out the weather is hot and there’s a dirt bike in the garage ready to go –  life is sweeter than a sugarlump!

It’s been a busy time since last month’s Newsletter. The Himalayan Heights season is in full swing, the South African office is a hive of activity and Toby is clocking up more airmiles than a bigamous BA pilot…

So, what’s been happening and what do you need to know about?

SOUTH AFRICA HITS THE PRESS

The launch of our newest tour – the cunningly named ‘Cape Crusader’ could not have been better timed with a full eight-page story in Adventure Bike Rider covering the recce ride that Toby, Julian and Laurie rode back in May. It’s a cracking read so head down you your local newsagents or better still subscribe and get it delivered.

And it’s no wonder they loved the story – this tour looks likely to become one of the big hitters on our calendar – it’s got everything from fantastic bikes to epic scenery and even finishes with an unforgettable Safari experience at Port Elizabeth – how great does that sound?

But it gets better – the first Cape Crusader tour is the Pioneer tour, so riders will get a massive 15% discount straight off the bat. Head on over to the website by clicking here to find out how you can snap up a fantastic bargain on a fantastic tour

AFRICA LIGHT

So, if the thought of taking a big adventure bike across the western Cape for an incredible 12 days is just a bit too much for you, keep a look out for our all new Africa Light tour that we’ll be launching next year.

BMW-310-GS – MOTORCYCLES, MAGAZINES and MUCH,MUCH MORE ... Hello Everyone - the sun’s out (News & Events, Newsletters)

SMALL BUT PERFECTLY FORMED – THE BMW G310 GS.  Image BMW

We’re going to be using BMW’s latest lightweight machine, the G301 GS, which shares the brands adventure DNA, but wrapped in a much smaller lighter and more agile chassis. But don’t think it lacks the legs for the black top – the 310 motor is a little slice of Bavarian goodness that will have you grinning all the way to Cederberg and beyond. We’re looking at tours of about a week but cramming in some stunning landscapes, incredible but achievable trails and awesome roads. This is going to be a great introduction to adventure touring for novices or for those who just want the whole African experience without the weight and power of those big GS machines.

HIMALAYAN HOLIDAYS ARE ON

And talking of big hitters – the tours don’t get much bigger than our Himalayan Heights tours that started in July and will run all the way to September. Between now and then a whole gang of intrepid riders will be flying into New Delhi and on to the start point in Shimla where they’ll get to meet their shiny Royal Enfields for an incredible journey through India’s stunning Himalayas. Need a taster – check out Toby’s epic video that has had nearly a quarter of a million views and redefines what a tour video should look like!

And those lovely chaps at ABR are also re-running the story on one of our Himalayan tours on their website – check it out here

From fording icy cold rivers, tackling thousands of metres of climbs on tight hairpins and narrow roads, to camping in remote hill villages and taking selfies with yaks, this is one adventure you will never forget. Toby got the drone out again for this one too – check it out!

There’s a fleet of brand spanking new Royal Enfield Himalayans to tackle the terrain, and what’s more, we’ve also got the Pioneer tour discount on this one – a massive 15% off the full tour price, giving you a chance to take part in the first epic tour for a substantial saving. Forget bucket lists – get this one booked!

NEW RECRUITS

We’ve got a lot of new faces in the office and out on the tours, so we’d like to welcome Carl and Phil who are joining us in the Himalayas as our tour Paramedics. They’re trained to the hilt in every aspect of emergency medicine and can perform trackside surgery at the drop of a hat – thankfully the most common thing they have to deal with is a touch of the Delhi belly or the odd horrific hangover. Whatever – they’re there for you.

In the SA office we’re also welcoming Bjorn who’s been busy with the videos, photos and marketing and will soon be taking his cameras out to India, and Yasmine who is handling all the travel arrangements for our crew and riders.  It’s turning into the best-looking tour team in the world!

Honda through a broken bridge in Vietnam!

We’re done for another month, but it’s traditional to finish on a high so this month were going with a bit of Jazz flute from Ron Burgundy – Mmmm – now that’s baby making music.

Give it a click – it’ll make you smile all day …
