Yamaha T7 Tenere – it’s here and it’s cheap as chips! UPDATED FOR AUS
After over two years in development and an endless stream of half-launches and reveals, you can finally buy a Yamaha T7 Tenere.
And what’s more, it you are quick about, you can even score and additional discount on the already super-cheap £8699 price tag. Looks like the wait has been worth it
And fresh off the press this morning – 7th March – the price in Australia has been confirmed at a similarly lightweight price of AU $15,499 plus OTR. Bonzer – as we understand you might say!
ONLINE DISCOUNT
So how do you get hold of the hotly anticipated T7? Well as from 27th March 2019 you will be able to click onto Yamaha’s online ordering system and place your order for the new adventure bike. Anb if you are quick about you’ll grab the base price of £8,399 ( €9399), a saving of a not inconsiderable £300 plus OTR charges.
The discount will run until July 31st, by which time the bikes will be in the dealerships, but Yamaha do state that the discount is on a first come, first serve basis that gives them the option of stopping the deal early if too many eager buyers are signing up!
OPTIONS AND CHOICES
Logging onto the early bird system will allow you to chose the colour option, from the old-school Competition White, the Tech Black and the somewhat confusing Ceramic Ice which is the blue one!
You’ll also be able to select an A2 licence friendly 47hp version rather than the 72.4 bhp full-fat version for full licence holding adventure riders
And while you are saving that cash online, you can convert it into aftermarket accessories that Yamaha have obligingly provided to tempt you from capacious luggage to anodised trinkets. We all love a bit of bling!
AMERICA FIRST? No ...
While the UK and Europe will be happily ordering and enjoying the new T7 from mid July, the eager buyers in the US are going to have to wait even longer again for the Tenere. Release dates for the American market are still pushed back even more with the T7 now listed as a 2021 model! With such a potentially huge market within the US this seems a massively costly delay for Yamaha, with would-be buyers likely to flock towards other brands in the intervening time – good news for the Africa Twin then.
And for the Australians reading this – the Tenere won’t be reaching you until December 2019. The T7 Tenere still doesn’t appear on the Yamaha Australia website, but dealers are now quoting the price at £15, 499 which is in line with, if not cheaper than the UK price.
FEEDBACK PLEASE
So what do you think – is the super-competitive price on the new Tenere enough to tempt you to stump up the cash? Are you going to be going online to place your order? Or have you already ordered a KTM Adventure 790?
